Reflection paper
August 26th 2013, the
first day of my last year of grade school. The final year of being a “child.” I
remember it like it was almost a school year ago. I was just starting my senior
year. I thought to myself, this year. This year I am going to make it a good
one. I am going to make this year count, do things I have never done before,
make it a great year that I will remember for the rest of my life. I mean
common, it is my last year before I go out into the real world.
So I made a list of things I want to
do. Get a job. Get a girlfriend hopefully long term. Make all A’s in my
classes. Develop a good work and study habit for college. Apply for college and
hopefully get accepted. But on top of all of that, I wanted something more,
something special, and something I could do to make this year really stand out
among all of my other years. I thought, maybe I should join a club, or do
something extreme. Maybe I could start motocross, maybe I could take skydiving
lessons, or scuba diving lessons, but out of all of those things, I had absolutely
no money to do any of them.
So
in reflection of my senior year, out of all of the things I wanted to do
including getting a girlfriend, getting a job, doing something extreme, getting
a good work habit etc… I have done one. I successfully obtained a job at Sonic.
The most exciting thing I have done this year that I will remember for the rest
of my life is getting my first job. It has given me a good work habit, but it
is not really how I intended to obtain it. I can now finally say that I have a
job just like all of my other friends and I am very happy about it.
